How do we see God's sovereignty in the book of Jonah?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty is evident in His control over nature and His authority to forgive sin (Jonah 3).

Throughout the book of Jonah, God's sovereignty is unmistakable as He commands nature, directs the paths of people, and dictates the fate of nations. In Jonah 3, God's directive to Jonah to go to Nineveh showcases His authority over human decisions and His intention to bring about repentance in a city marked by wickedness. This narrative illustrates that God not only orchestrates events for His purpose but also demonstrates His power to intervene in human history, extend mercy, and grant forgiveness, affirming the belief that nothing occurs outside of His perfect will.
