How do we understand God's sovereignty in death?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty assures us that every death occurs according to His divine appointment, fulfilling His purposes.

Understanding God's sovereignty in relation to death is foundational to the Christian faith. The Scriptures teach that every individual has an appointed time to die (Hebrews 9:27), and nothing happens outside of God's supreme authority. This truth encourages believers to trust in God's perfect timing and purpose, even in the midst of sorrow and loss. We recognize that God is not distant but actively involved in our lives, orchestrating events for His glory and our eternal good. By acknowledging His sovereignty, we find peace in the midst of mourning, knowing that our loved ones who die in Christ are held in His care. We can rest in the belief that God will work all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
