How does a pastor reflect the role of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

A pastor embodies Christ's role as a shepherd, caring for and guiding the flock entrusted to him.

The role of a pastor mirrors Christ's role as the Good Shepherd. Just as Christ laid down His life for His sheep, a faithful pastor is called to tend to the needs of his congregation with love and diligence. In John 10, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep and lays down His life for them. The pastoral ministry, therefore, is modeled after Christ, emphasizing the importance of spiritual oversight, guidance, and protection for the flock, which highlights the honor that comes from supporting such a ministry.
