How does believing in Jesus like a child differ from adult faith?

Answered in 1 source

Childlike faith is characterized by simplicity and trust without the skepticism often found in adults.

When Jesus speaks of receiving the kingdom of God like a child, He refers to the pure, uncomplicated faith that children exhibit. Children typically do not carry the doubts and complexities that adults have. They trust easily, believing what they are told, especially concerning matters of faith. In contrast, adult faith can be hampered by doubt, intellectualism, and a reliance on personal achievements. The call to faith is to drop such adult reservations and trust in Christ, as a child does, allowing for a genuine relationship with Him.
