How does Christ as our representative affect our standing before God?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's representing work secures our acceptance and righteousness before God.

In the sovereign grace theology, Christ serves as our representative and covenant head, which profoundly impacts our standing before God. Through His perfect obedience, He fulfills the law that we could never keep, providing us with righteousness as a gift. As stated in Romans 5:19, by one man's obedience, many will be made righteous. The penal substitution of Christ—where He bore our sins and their consequences—means that we are accepted in the beloved, justified and free from condemnation (Romans 8:1). His work on our behalf reassures us that our salvation rests securely in His completed work, not in our own efforts.
