How does Christ deliver us from the weight of sin?

Answered in 1 source

Christ delivers us from the weight of sin by bearing our sins and granting us forgiveness through His sacrifice.

Christ delivers believers from the weight of sin by taking upon Himself the full consequence of their transgressions. As noted in 1 Peter 2:24, 'Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree,' Jesus' sacrifice is central to the believer’s hope for redemption and freedom from guilt. His atoning work not only cancels the debt of sin but also provides the believer with imputed righteousness, meaning that when God looks upon those who believe in Him, He sees the perfect righteousness of Christ instead of their sinful nature. This deliverance brings about true freedom, allowing believers to live in peace and assurance, knowing that the burdens of their sins have been lifted, and they are accepted in the beloved.
