How does Christ fulfill the covenant for His people?

Answered in 1 source

Christ fulfills the covenant by acting as both God and man, accomplishing what was required for our justification.

Christ fulfills the covenant uniquely as the God-man, representing both divine justice and human need. In Isaiah 49:8, the promise indicates that God would give Christ to the people as a covenant. He meets the requirements of the law both by living a sinless life and by taking upon Himself the punishment due to the elect for their sins. His dual nature allows Him to be the mediator who reconciles God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5). By bearing our sins and paying the debt we owed, Christ accomplished everything necessary for our justification, ensuring that none of His people are lost.
