How does Christ fulfill the role of High Priest?

Answered in 1 source

Christ fulfills the role of High Priest by offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice for sin and mediating between God and humanity.

In the role of High Priest, Christ fulfills a vital function in salvation history. He is the ultimate mediator who not only offers sacrifices but becomes the sacrifice Himself, ensuring eternal redemption for His people (Hebrews 9:12). Unlike the Levitical priests, who had to offer daily sacrifices, Christ's one-time atonement was sufficient, leading to our justification and sanctification. Through His blood, He perfects those who are sanctified and provides believers with the assurance of their acceptance before God. Additionally, as High Priest, He intercedes for us, offering the assurance that we are continually in His grace and care.
