How does Christ open the hearts of believers?

Answered in 1 source

Christ opens the hearts of believers by illuminating their understanding so they can receive the truth of the Gospel.

According to Acts 16:14, the Lord opened Lydia's heart to respond to Paul's message. This act of opening the heart is crucial because it signifies the transition from spiritual deadness to the ability to believe and trust in Christ. As sinners, our hearts are closed to divine truth until Christ intervenes to enlighten our understanding. In Luke 24:45, we see that after revealing Himself to His disciples, He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. Therefore, it is only through His sovereign grace that individuals can truly comprehend their need for salvation and the truth found in God's Word.
