How does Christ's death demonstrate God's justice?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's death satisfies God's justice by providing a suitable sacrifice for sin, fulfilling both His justice and mercy.

The death of Christ is crucial in demonstrating God's justice. Since the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), there must be a payment for sin. Christ’s sacrificial death serves as the appointed payment for our transgressions. This sacrifice enables God to be both just and the justifier of those who believe (Romans 3:26). The gravity of sin necessitates an adequate atonement, which only Christ, being both God and sinless, could provide. By dying as our substitute, He fulfills the demands of divine justice while extending God’s mercy to us.
