How does Christ's sacrifice fulfill the law?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's sacrifice fulfills the law by satisfying the requirements for atonement and ushering in a better covenant.

Christ's coming was to fulfill the law of God, which required perfect obedience and sacrifice for sin. In Matthew 5:17, Jesus states that He did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. The sacrificial system established under the Old Testament pointed to Him as the ultimate satisfaction for sin. By laying down His life once for all, He fulfilled every requirement of the law, rendering the continual sacrifices obsolete. In so doing, He brought about a new and better covenant in which believers are declared righteous based solely on faith in Christ's completed work, as expressed in Hebrews 10:14, where it states that by one offering, He perfected forever those who are sanctified.
