How does Christ serve as our foundation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is described as a sure foundation, a tried stone, and a precious cornerstone for all believers (Isaiah 28:16).

In Isaiah 28:16, God declares that He lays a foundation in Zion, referring to Christ as the stone, rock, and sure foundation. This foundation is secure and indispensable. Christ is depicted as ‘tried’—He faced temptation and trials, emerging victorious, thus ensuring that He is reliable for those who trust in Him. As a cornerstone, He provides the necessary alignment for a building; in the spiritual sense, He offers believers the truth and guidance they need. Being a precious cornerstone indicates His ultimate value in the lives of believers who embrace Him as their Savior. Unlike worldly foundations that are unstable, Christ offers eternal security and satisfaction for our souls, assuring us that whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.
