How does Christ serve as the ultimate sacrifice for sin?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is the ultimate sacrifice for sin because He offers Himself wholly, achieving what the animal sacrifices could not.

The tabernacle in the Old Testament served as the place where sacrifices for sin were made, but these were only temporary and never fully atoned for sin (Hebrews 10:4). In contrast, Christ’s sacrifice is both divine and human, sufficient to remove the sins of His people completely. His sacrifice on the cross fulfilled all the requirements of justice, as evidenced in Isaiah 53, where He bore the sins and iniquities of many. The effectiveness of His one offering perfected forever those who are sanctified (Hebrews 10:14), showcasing that Christ’s sacrifice alone can satisfy God's law and justice for all eternity.
