How does Christ sustain our spiritual life?

Answered in 1 source

Christ sustains our spiritual life by being our nourishment and strength through faith and His Word.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus claims, 'I am the bread of life' (John 6:35), emphasizing His role as the sustenance for our spiritual needs. Just as our physical bodies require regular nourishment, our souls require continual feeding on Christ and His truths. The relationship we have with Christ provides the strength we need to endure trials and tribulations, as He is the source of our joy and peace. Moreover, through regular fellowship with Him, via prayer, the study of Scripture, and participation in the sacraments, we receive grace that sustains us in our journey of faith. Christ’s sustaining power ensures that we are not only preserved but also empowered to live out His calling.
