How does doctrine relate to evangelism?

Answered in 1 source

Doctrine is intrinsic to evangelism, as it conveys the essential truths of the gospel message.

Evangelism without doctrine represents a hollow exercise that fails to articulate the core tenets of the Christian faith. Doctrine provides the content needed for faithful witnessing, being the essential 'good news' of God's plan for salvation (Romans 10:14). Every aspect of the gospel message, from God’s holiness and man's sin to the saving work of Christ, is rooted in doctrinal truth. Thus, sound evangelism occurs when doctrine informs the presentation of the gospel, leading to genuine conversion and discipleship, as one cannot believe in what one has not heard.
