How does election relate to the Gospel invitation?

Answered in 1 source

Election opens the door for all who are willing to come to Christ, affirming God’s grace in salvation.

Election does not restrict anyone from coming to Christ but rather serves to illuminate the grace that God extends to all. While God has chosen a people for salvation, the invitation to partake in His grace is genuinely open to all who will respond. In John 7:37, Jesus invites the thirsty to come and drink, which reflects the open nature of this call. The crux of election is that while God’s choice of the elect is predetermined, it does not negate the urgency of proclaiming the Gospel or the responsibility of individuals to respond in faith. Election, therefore, assures us that those who hear the Gospel and respond in faith are part of the chosen ones.
