How does Ephesians explain the relationship between grace and good works?

Answered in 1 source

Ephesians teaches that while we are saved by grace through faith, we are also created for good works.

In Ephesians, the relationship between grace and works is articulated clearly. Paul emphasizes that salvation is entirely by grace, not a result of our own efforts or righteousness. However, he also points out that we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works (Ephesians 2:10). This means that while our good works do not earn our salvation, they are the fruit of it. A life transformed by grace naturally flows into acts of love and obedience, thereby fulfilling the purpose for which we were created. This reinforces the truth that genuine faith will manifest in a life of good works enabled by God's grace.
