How does faith and works relate to justification?

Answered in 1 source

Faith and works are intimately connected; true faith produces good works as a manifestation of justification.

In the context of justification, faith and works have a significant relationship. James 2:24 states, 'Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.' This does not contradict the doctrine of justification by faith alone; rather, it highlights that genuine faith naturally results in works that glorify God. If faith does not produce works, it is dead (James 2:20). A believer's works serve as evidence of their faith and justification. While justification is through faith alone, the fruit of that faith is demonstrated in a life of obedience and good works that God has prepared for believers.
