How does faith contribute to our healing from sin?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is the means by which we receive Christ's healing from sin, as it reveals our belief in His power to cleanse us.

Faith in Christ is critical for receiving healing from our sin. In Matthew 8:2, the leper expresses his faith by saying, 'Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.' This act of faith illustrates that recognition of Christ's ability to heal is the first step towards experiencing that healing. Moreover, Romans 10:17 emphasizes that 'faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God,' highlighting that exposure to the gospel message cultivates faith, leading us to Christ for cleansing. When we trust in Him, He not only forgives our sins but also transforms our hearts, enabling us to walk in newness of life.
