How does faith honor God in salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Faith honors God by acknowledging Him as the sole source of salvation.

Faith honors God as it recognizes Him as the author and finisher of our salvation, thereby excluding any grounds for human boasting. Romans 4 discusses how Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness. This demonstrates that true faith glorifies God by being fully persuaded that He is capable of fulfilling His promises. Moreover, when believers exercise faith in Christ, they affirm that salvation is entirely God's work, fulfilling what He promised. Thus, faith leads to a deeper dependence on and trust in God, allowing Him to receive the utmost glory for our salvation instead of attributing it to our own actions.
