How does faith purify the heart?

Answered in 1 source

Faith purifies the heart by directing our focus towards Christ, leading to a transformation in our thoughts and actions.

1 John 3:3 teaches that, "Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." Living with the expectation of Christ's return encourages a life of holiness and sets the believer apart from sin. This purifying work is a function of the believer's faith, which looks to Christ for grace and transformation. When Christians focus their hearts on Christ, trusting in His love and sacrifice, they are empowered to live righteously and reflect His character in their lives. It is a faith that not only saves but actively changes, enabling believers to love and serve others out of gratitude for the grace received.
