How does faith refuse the world?

Answered in 1 source

Faith refuses the world by prioritizing eternal values over temporary worldly gains.

The faith of God’s elect refuses the world by recognizing that true contentment and hope are not found in worldly possessions or success but in the eternal promises of God. The patriarchs exemplified this as they chose faith over the allure of worldly security. Abraham left his prosperous life in Ur; Jacob blessed the younger son Ephraim despite conventions; and Joseph resisted the cultural pressures of Egypt. Their lives teach that while believers engage with the world, their hearts and ambitions remain firmly anchored in the hope of God’s eternal kingdom, always seeking what lasts beyond physical existence.
