How does faith relate to our awareness of sin?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is often born out of a deep awareness of our sin and need for salvation.

A genuine understanding of one's sinfulness leads to an authentic faith in Christ. In narratives such as those of the woman with the issue of blood and the Canaanite woman, their dire need prompted their faith in Christ. Knowing their inability and sin drove them to seek Jesus for healing and mercy (Matthew 15:22-28). This pattern reveals that when one recognizes their sinful state, it cultivates a reliance on Christ, as only He can provide the necessary grace for true transformation and redemption. The humbler we are about our sin, the more profound our faith and dependence on God become.
