How does faith relate to our prayers?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is the means through which we express our prayers, trusting in Christ's sufficiency for everything we need.

Faith is essential in the prayer life of a believer; it is the empty hand that reaches out to Christ for what we cannot provide for ourselves. Ephesians 2:8 confirms that faith is a gift from God, not a work we perform to earn His favor. True faith acknowledges our complete inability to meet any requirements God has set, thus relying solely on Jesus for our salvation and all the promises He holds. In prayer, we acknowledge that our faith is not an end in itself but points us towards Christ, the one who fulfills all that we need and more.
