How does faith relate to works?

Answered in 2 sources

Faith produces good works, but it is not based on works for justification; rather, it is through faith that we are justified.

In Reformed theology, faith and works are intimately connected yet distinct. While we are justified by faith alone, true faith naturally results in good works as its fruit. Ephesians 2:8-10 clarifies this relationship, stating that we are saved by grace through faith for the purpose of performing good works prepared beforehand by God. Thus, while works do not justify us, they are the evidence of a living faith. Real faith manifests itself through obedience and a life transformed by the grace of God, highlighting that salvation through faith will invariably produce spiritual fruits.
