How does fasting relate to showing humility in a Christian's life?

Answered in 1 source

Fasting should be a private expression of humility, not a public display for recognition.

In Matthew 6:16-18, Jesus teaches that fasting must be approached with the right heart attitude. He warns against looking somber and making a display of one's fasting to gain attention. True fasting is about a heart yearning for communion with God and recognizing personal neediness before Him. The essence of fasting lies in self-denial and a hunger for righteousness, rather than in seeking the admiration of others.
