How does God comfort His children in times of chastening?

During times of chastening, the Lord provides comfort through His promises, reminding His people that He will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). The psalmist expresses this comfort by stating, 'In the multitude of my thoughts within me, thy comforts delight my soul' (Psalm 94:19).
