How does God demonstrate His mercy to us?

Answered in 1 source

God demonstrates His mercy by showing compassion and kindness to those who do not deserve it, just as King David did for Mephibosheth.

God's mercy is beautifully illustrated in the narrative of David and Mephibosheth, where David chooses to show kindness to one who is utterly unworthy. The act of mercy is not based on Mephibosheth's status but on David's commitment to Jonathan's covenant. In a similar way, God's mercy toward us is not contingent on our actions or merit. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:4-5 that 'God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, made us alive together with Christ.' This reflects that God's mercy is a deliberate act of love, aimed at restoring life to those who are spiritually dead and deserving of condemnation.
