How does God equip us to handle suffering?

Answered in 1 source

God equips us through His promises, the Holy Spirit, and His grace to face and endure suffering.

In moments of suffering, God assures us that He actively works in and through our trials for our good. Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for good for those who love God. This sovereignty is a foundation for our hope amidst difficulty. Additionally, the Holy Spirit, referred to as the Comforter, actively brings to our remembrance the truths of God's word, strengthening us in our faith during hardships. Furthermore, God’s grace is sufficient, allowing us to endure and ultimately triumph over suffering, be it through personal trials or external challenges, as He shapes us into the likeness of Christ.
