How does God help us to keep His statutes?

Answered in 1 source

God assists us in keeping His statutes through His grace and by directing our hearts.

Psalm 119:8 concludes with a plea for God not to forsake the psalmist, underlying our dependence on God's grace to follow His commandments. We can only keep God's statutes when we seek His help and rely on His unchanging character. The scriptures remind us that it is the Lord who transforms our hearts to desire His ways (Philippians 2:13). This process involves prayer, acknowledgement of our need, and a humble heart seeking divine assistance. It signifies that while we strive to uphold God's commandments, it is ultimately His grace that empowers and enables us to live according to His will.
