How does God increase His church according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

God increases His church by calling His elect and empowering them through His gospel.

The Bible teaches that the increase of the church comes from God Himself, who works through the proclamation of the gospel. In Isaiah 51:1-3, the Lord assures His people that He will comfort Zion and transform her desolate places into joy and gladness. This act of comforting and increasing His church is accomplished through the effectual preaching of the gospel. As Paul states in 1 Corinthians 3:6-7, 'I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.' Thus, it is God's Spirit who works in the hearts of the people, calling His elect and adding them to the body of Christ. Believers are called to faithfully preach the truth of the gospel, trusting in God's power to bring about the increase.
