How does God keep believers from falling away?

Answered in 1 source

God keeps believers through His grace, the intercession of Christ, and the work of the Holy Spirit.

Believers are preserved by the grace of God, which actively works in their lives to sustain them in faith. This includes the intercessory role of Christ, who continually advocates for us before the Father (Hebrews 7:25). Additionally, the Holy Spirit indwells believers, guiding and empowering them to live in accordance with God's will. The assurance of salvation lies not in human effort but in divine sovereignty, demonstrating that God is faithful to complete the work He started in believers (Philippians 1:6). This understanding alleviates the fear of falling away, as true believers are upheld by the strength of God's promises.
