How does God provide for us in prayer?

Answered in 1 source

God provides through His goodness and creativity, supplying us with what we truly need.

When we pray, God responds not just by giving us what we ask for, but by supplying our genuine needs according to His wisdom and love. In Luke 11:11-12, Jesus uses the metaphor of a father giving bread instead of a stone to illustrate that God will not only provide good gifts but will also withhold harmful things from us. His answers to prayer may not always align with our requests, such as when we ask for things that could harm us, like the scorpion in the parable. Instead, God provides the Holy Spirit, the ultimate good gift, who leads us and empowers us in our lives.
