How does God respond to our rebellion?

Answered in 1 source

God addresses our rebellion by breaking our proud hearts, compelling us to humble ourselves before Him.

God responds to our rebellion with the intention to break our proud hearts and lead us toward repentance. In the sermon, it is illustrated that God interacts with each individual uniquely, meeting them at their point of rebellion. For Naaman, it was his pride and expectation of receiving honor that created a barrier between him and his healing. God does not forcefully break us; instead, He reveals the areas in which we resist His will. Through experiences that challenge our pride, we see our need for humility and surrender. Just as Naaman had to humble himself to experience healing, we too must submit to God's will, realizing that He is sovereign and operates according to His counsel. The process of breaking is a part of God's mercy as He works to bring us into deeper relationship with Him.
