How does God respond to partial obedience?

Answered in 1 source

God's response to partial obedience is often one of serious consequence, as He demands complete adherence to His commandments.

God takes partial obedience seriously, and His responses in Scripture illustrate the gravity of this issue. For example, when Moses partially disobeyed by striking the rock instead of speaking to it as God commanded, he faced severe consequences, not being allowed to enter the Promised Land (Numbers 20). Likewise, Saul's failure to completely destroy the Amalekites resulted in God rejecting him as king (1 Samuel 15). These instances highlight that God desires complete obedience from His people, and deviations from His instructions, even if seemingly small, can lead to significant spiritual repercussions.
