How does God respond to the prayers of the destitute?

Answered in 1 source

God assures that He will hear and regard the prayers of the destitute.

Psalm 102:17 clearly states that God will not despise the prayers of the destitute. This assurance is significant for believers who may doubt whether God listens to their cries in moments of despair. The essence of God's nature includes a readiness to show mercy, particularly to those who acknowledge their neediness and approach Him in humility. One's prayer does not need to be eloquent; what matters is sincerity, as God looks at the heart. When we approach Him with desperation and genuine supplication, we can trust that He hears us.
