How does God's calling relate to election?

Answered in 1 source

God's calling is intrinsically linked to election, as those who are called were chosen before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4).

In Reformed theology, the concepts of election and calling are intimately connected. According to Ephesians 1:4, 'According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,' we see that God's election occurs in eternity, while His calling transpires in time. The 'called' refer to those whom God has predestined for salvation, affirming that His choice to save is purely based on His mercy and sovereign will. The call is effectual and results in the believer's regeneration and justification, ultimately leading to glorification.
