How does God's election relate to the truth?

Answered in 1 source

God's election is the means by which believers come to know and accept the truth.

God's election is fundamental to the sovereignty of salvation, as presented in Ephesians 1:4-5, which teaches that God chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. The natural man, lacking the Holy Spirit, cannot discern spiritual truths (1 Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, God’s sovereign choice is essential for revealing the truth of the gospel to individuals. This divine election means that those chosen by God will inevitably come to know and embrace the truth as revealed through Christ. As Paul reflects on his own experience, it is through divine intervention that he went from persecutor to preacher, demonstrating that understanding the truth is the work of God’s grace and mercy.
