How does God's everlasting nature comfort believers?

Answered in 1 source

God's everlasting nature assures us of His unchanging purpose and faithfulness.

In Habakkuk 1:12, the prophet acknowledges God's eternal nature when he declares, 'Art thou not from everlasting, O Lord my God?' This recognition reassures believers that their God is immutable and faithful to His promises. Unlike worldly entities, which can falter and change, God’s everlasting existence and faithfulness provide a solid foundation for all of His promises to His people. Therefore, knowing that God does not change allows believers to trust Him confidently in every situation, as His character and plans remain unaltered throughout all generations. This comfort is also reflected in Romans 8:28, where we are reminded that all things work together for the good of those who love Him.
