How does God's grace enable perseverance in faith?

Answered in 1 source

God’s grace provides the strength and will for believers to persevere in faith.

God’s grace is the foundational element that enables believers to persevere in their faith. As explicated in Ephesians 2:8-9, salvation and faith are gifts from God, not of works, which should lead to boasting. This means that perseverance itself is rooted in divine grace that transforms and molds the believer's heart. The desire to seek God and remain faithful even amid struggles comes from the new heart He gives to His people, while His grace continually sustains them, ensuring they do not return to the false hopes of this world. Hence, grace is actively at work in both the beginning and sustenance of faith.
