How does God's grace enable us to turn to Him?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace enables us to turn to Him by giving us the faith to believe and a heart that longs for Him.

God's grace is the primary means by which we are enabled to turn to Him. In Proverbs 1:23, He promises, 'I will pour out my spirit unto you; I will make known my words unto you.' This means that it is God's initiative to soften our hearts and give us understanding. Without this divine act of grace, turning to God would be impossible as our natural state is one of rebellion and indifference. Through the Holy Spirit, God works in our hearts, revealing our need for Christ, fostering faith, and drawing us to Himself. In this way, grace becomes the catalyst that transforms our hearts from one of enmity into ones that earnestly seek God.
