How does God's grace relate to mankind's fallen state?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace is essential for salvation as it redeems those who are spiritually dead due to sin.

In acknowledging the fallenness of mankind, we must also understand the incredible nature of God's grace that seeks to redeem. Romans 9:11-16 affirms that God's mercy is not conditioned on human will or deeds but is an expression of His sovereign choice. This grace, uniquely displayed through the person of Jesus Christ, offers hope even to those who have rebelled against God. It is this grace that not only becomes the means of salvation but also shapes the believer's life, enabling them to reflect the glory of God (2 Thessalonians 2:13). Thus, while humanity stands in desperate need of grace, it is through God's decision to save some that His glory shines forth.
