How does God's justice relate to our justification?

Answered in 1 source

God's justice is satisfied through Christ's sacrifice, allowing Him to justify sinners without compromising His holiness.

God's justice and holiness demand that sin be punished, which is why the atoning work of Jesus Christ is central to our justification. As discussed in the sermon, God cannot show mercy at the expense of His justice. The justice of God requires that sin be dealt with, and this is exactly what Christ achieved on the cross. By taking the punishment for sin, He satisfies God's justice, allowing believers to be justified and accepted in God's sight. Thus, through Jesus, God righteously declares the ungodly to be just.
