How does God's love cast out fear?

Answered in 1 source

God's perfect love casts out fear by assuring us of our acceptance in Christ (1 John 4:18).

The Apostle John teaches that 'perfect love casteth out fear' (1 John 4:18). This perfect love refers to the love that God has for us, which dispels doubts and insecurities about our standing before Him. When we understand and believe in the magnitude of God's love, particularly as demonstrated through Christ, it removes fear of judgment and condemnation. Instead, it provides boldness in our relationship with God and encourages us to approach Him confidently, knowing that His love at the cross is sufficient to cover our sins. Fear is rooted in uncertainty and guilt, but when we are secure in God's love, we can experience peace and assurance.
