How does God's preservation relate to our trials and tribulations?

Answered in 1 source

God's preservation assures us that even in trials, He is with us, guiding us through.

The preservation of God's people does not imply an absence of trials, but rather the promise of divine support through them. God's control over every event means that our hardships serve a purpose within His sovereign plan. In times of trouble, like David fleeing from Saul, the Lord’s preserving hand can lead us to unexpected deliverance. This assurance enables us to endure challenges, knowing that they do not compromise our ultimate security in Christ. Instead, they can be viewed as means through which God deepens our faith and draws us closer to Him.
