How does God's promise of presence affect believers in times of trial?

Answered in 1 source

God's promise of presence assures believers that they are never alone, even in death.

The assurance that God is always with His people brings comfort that transcends any earthly trials we may face. Hebrews 13:5 reminds us that God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. When believers die, they realize this promise was true all along; His presence was with them throughout their lives. This knowledge alleviates fear and anxiety, as they will see that the struggles of this life are manageable with God alongside them. Ultimately, they will recognize that He has been their guide and companion from the beginning.
