How does God's providence relate to our suffering?

Answered in 1 source

God’s providence is the underlying truth that even our suffering is orchestrated for His glory and our good.

God's providence is the doctrine that affirms His sovereignty over every aspect of creation, including our suffering. Through Job's experiences, we see that his trials were permitted by God for a greater purpose. Job did not know the reason for his suffering initially, yet he maintained faith in God's righteous character. Scripture teaches that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). This understanding of providence shapes our view of suffering; it is not random, but rather part of God’s purposeful design. In acknowledging God's providence, we find comfort knowing that our tribulations are designed to glorify Him and produce fruit in our lives, developing patience, hope, and character.
