How does God's sovereignty assure us of our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty assures us of our salvation as it shows that He is in complete control and has a definite plan for His elect (Isaiah 46:10).

The sovereignty of God is a comforting doctrine, especially regarding salvation. Isaiah 46:10 expresses God's declaration that He declares the end from the beginning and fulfills His purposes completely. This sovereignty means that God actively orchestrates all events toward the ultimate goal of glorifying Himself through the salvation of His chosen people. Therefore, believers can rest assured in their salvation, knowing that it is not dependent on their own actions or faithfulness, but rather on God’s unchanging nature and His decision to save a particular people. This assurance is echoed in 1 Peter 1:5, where it says that we are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation.
