How does God's sovereignty relate to the trials of life?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty ensures that all trials serve His purposeful designs for His people.

In the theology of sovereign grace, God's sovereignty is central to understanding the nature of trials and suffering in life. The account of Job reveals that God initiated the trials he faced but for a divine purpose—to demonstrate Job's faith and to ultimately glorify Himself. God's control over all events assures that nothing happens outside of His will or without His permission, which is comforting to believers. Romans 8:28 reassures us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him. This perspective provides hope during suffering, as we trust that even in the darkest times, God is at work for our good and His glory.
