How does God's view of sin affect our relationship with Him?

Answered in 1 source

God cannot look upon sin, which separates us from Him and emphasizes our need for a Savior.

Sin creates a division between God and humanity due to His perfect holiness. The Bible clearly states that God cannot tolerate sin and is angered by wickedness. This means that without reconciliation through Christ, we remain enemies of God, living separated from His presence. Understanding this is pivotal for believers, as it drives home the importance of Jesus’ sacrifice, which provides the means for us to be accepted by God, covered by His grace, and restored to a right relationship with Him.
